General Skilled Migration Subclass 189/190/491/191

General Skilled Migration Subclass 189/190/491/191

Overview

Australia’s General Skilled Migration (GSM) program provides pathways for skilled workers to obtain permanent residence without requiring employer sponsorship. The main visa subclasses are the Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189), which is points-tested and does not require state or family sponsorship; the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190), which requires nomination by a state or territory government; and the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 491), which requires state nomination or sponsorship by an eligible family member in regional Australia and offers a pathway to permanent residency through the Skilled Regional visa (Subclass 191) after meeting income and residency requirements. These visas are designed to attract highly skilled individuals to support Australia’s labour market needs, with eligibility based on factors such as age, English ability, qualifications, work experience, and occupation demand.

At Futai Migration, we help skilled professionals with all stages of the General Skilled Migration program, including subclass 189, 190, 491 and 191 visas. Our services include assessing your eligibility and points, guiding you through skills assessments, preparing Expressions of Interest (EOIs), meeting state or territory nomination requirements, and lodging complete applications. We aim to give you the best chance of securing permanent residency in Australia with clear strategies and professional support.
